Zhong Kui Gazing at a Bat

Zhong Kui is wearing a red robe, holding onto his sleeves while standing, turning his body sideways and gazing at a red bat fly towards him. This is an auspicious connotation of attracting fortune into the room. In terms of character construction, cinnabar was used to outline Zhong Kui’s clothing which is then painted with crimson red. The delicate control of the ink’s moisture and the illustration of the face using medium and faint ink is detailed and lively.
