In the legends, Gayāśana ārya has an exceptional mental capacity, quick on the uptake, and no matter how difficult the Dharma is, he is able to provide a precise answer. Xia Jing Shan’s Gayāśana ārya is casual and carefree, bending at the waist, with his right hand raised and using a scratcher to ease an itch on his back. He looks content, but seemingly possessing infinite wisdom, reflecting the air of a sage of the human world.
