Avalokiteśvara is painted in cinnabar and depicted in white clothing, while her expression is drawn in gongbi style, the body is relaxed and the arms crossed as she sits atop a rock in the lotus position. The Amitabha in the bejewelled crown on her head also sits upon a white lotus. The half-gongbi-half-freehand fusion of penning and inking implies there is only Śūnyatā (emptiness) and Bhava (being), where the realness of Dharma (Śūnyatā), while not forgetting to enlighten the Bhava of all sentient beings, can only be achieved by Bhava within Śūnyatā, and it is only then that one can enlighten upon hearing such request, allow all sentient beings to feel enlightenment, thus Buddha and bodhisattvas will naturally respond to one. The purity vase with willow branch and the scripture scroll is the dual presentation of compassion and wisdom.
