This Bodhidharma is not of the classical white clothing image. His clothing has intricate patterns, his white hair, the light behind him, arriving on clouds and miss, is as if it is an imagination of him in Nirvana. Xia Jing Shan uses interweaving Chinese Meticulous and freehand style strokes, shaded with green flower tones and ink, to bring out the bright light around Bodhidharma’s head from behind, which symbolizes the aurora of Zen wisdom.
