Xia Jing Shan Digital Archive
To foster academic researches and cultural promotion on painting and calligraphy arts, Xia Jing Shan Arts & Culture Foundation specifically built the website, Digital Archive on Xia Jing Shan’s Paintings & Calligraphy Arts, hoping to serve as a reference for practitioners of relevant fields. Painter/Calligraphy Maestro Xia is adept at meticulous Gongbi techniques with coloring for iconographic depiction achieved with both form and spirit. He particularly focuses on Buddhist paintings, landscapes, portrait paintings and calligraphy. Xia hopes to disseminate ethical virtues and philanthropic beliefs via the states and imageries depicted in his paintings and calligraphy arts. The Digital Archive as a platform encompasses precious assets of Xia’s artworks, classified into a series of Buddha, Guanyin, Bodhisattva, Bodhidharma, Luohan, Zhong Kuei, landscapes, portrait paintings and calligraphy, which can be retrieved by “Browse by Category” or “Archive Index” for the purpose of academic researches or cultural promotion. Those engaged in academic researches or non-profit cultural promotion can apply for free access to website content following application procedures. For commercial users, a small authorization charge will apply, upon following application procedures. All proceeds from authorization charges will be donated to charitable education and academic researches & resources such as Xia Jing Shan Social Innovation Empowerment Scholarship or Xia Jing Shan Painting & Calligraphy Research Center.
