Avalokiteśvara

Sitting in the lotus position on a rock, Avalokiteśvara is seen here holding the purity bottle with mist flowing out of it that then blends in with the auspicious clouds in the sky. Protected and guarded by the Deva King, Shakyamuni Buddha, Bhaisajyaguru Buddha, and Amitabha Buddha manifest from the clouds to bestow more blessed energy upon Avalokiteśvara. The supporting inscription at the side reads, “Seeing the Real Buddha.” Composition wise, a line moves from the top to the bottom to show a visual interaction between the three Buddhas and Avalokiteśvara, and to the left is a majestic cliff, with overlapping haze and clouds seen on the right. Distinctive layers are created with the contrasting elusive and tangible elements, making the image fascinating to see. Avalokiteśvara and the Buddhas are exquisitely depicted with vivid features in this painting. The meticulous brushwork and color application are refined and blend harmoniously with the lyrical landscape, creating a scene that is pleasant and uplifting.
