Zhong Kui

This painting depicts Zhong Kui with lyrical ink gestures, with the features on his bearded face delicately portrayed and his hand gestures and posture exaggerated. The overlapping inscriptions give the piece an enhanced sense of complexity with the layers created. The words inscribed by Xia Jing Shan serve as a warm reminder about the universe’s order and how there will always be consequences for good or evil acts. We must always be mindful and cultivate our moral character. A blessed person is a person that is righteous and virtuous.
